Abstract

This article aims to describe the presence of the work of Gabriela Mistral, César Vallejo, and Paul Celan in Gonzalo Rojas’s poetry. These three poets, whom Rojas see as “touchstones” for the development of his own poetic output, has helped him to develop his poetic persona. Rojas’ own image has been construed thanks to these authors’ poetry; this is not, of course, a coincidence, since from its very beginnings Rojas’ poetry developed a vision that prepared him for the conception and further development of those fundamental metaphors.
