In this work we analyze the character of the sorceress in Jose Donoso’s El obsceno pájaro de la noche
(The Obscene Bird of Night), as a force that inverts and distorts the discourse order of the lord’s world,
transforming the form of the novelistic language that belongs to the realism and the ideology that
sustains it.
