Outstanding Paper Award 2021

2024-12-24

The eligibility criteria of papers selected by the Editorial Board considered some aspects such us: papers which provide a significant contribution in the state-of-the-art or understanding in a particular field, originality, clarity and accuracy in writing, and overall impact (amount of citations/date of publication).

Nomination and selection procedures

The eligible papers could be from one of the following: (i) Volume 20, Issue 1, 2021; (ii) Volume 20, Issue 2, 2021; or (iii) Volume 20, Issue 3, 2021. Considering that the age or time since publication influences citation accrual—since older papers typically tend to gather more citations—a normalization score has been calculated based on the release date of each issue (i.e., 1, 2, or 3) within Volume 20 in 2021.

The preselected papers are:

  • Jenifer, J. V., and Brindha, D. (2021). Development of hybrid steel-basalt fiber reinforced concrete-in aspects of flexure, fracture and microstructure. Revista de la construcción, 20(1), 62-90. DOI: http://dx.doi.org/10.7764/RDLC.20.1.62

  • Kaya, M., and Köksal, F. (2021). Influences of high temperature on mechanical properties of fly ash based geopolymer mortars reinforced with PVA fiber. Revista de la construcción, 20(2), 393-406. DOI: http://dx.doi.org/10.7764/RDLC.20.2.393

  • Hassan Nensok, M., Othuman Mydin, M. A., and Awang, H. (2021). Optimization of mechanical properties of cellular lightweight concrete with alkali treated banana fiber. Revista de la construcción, 20(3), 491-511. DOI: http://dx.doi.org/10.7764/RDLC.20.3.491

  • Akboga Kale, Õ. (2021). Characteristic analysis and prevention strategy of trench collapse accidents in the US, 1995-2020. Revista de la construcción, 20(3), 617-628. DOI: http://dx.doi.org/10.7764/RDLC.20.3.617

Outstanding paper award 2021:

The “Revista de la Construccion-Outstanding Paper Award 2021” has been granted to the article “Influences of high temperature on mechanical properties of fly ash based geopolymer mortars reinforced with PVA fiber” (http://dx.doi.org/10.7764/RDLC.20.2.393) presented by Professors Mehmet Kaya, and Fuat Koksal.

We congratulate these research teams for their remarkable contributions to our journal and we encourage our community to submit research manuscripts (construction and building technologies and civil engineering).
